Tikveš Castle

Tikveš Castle was built in the second half of the 19th century by members of the noble Teschen lineage of the Habsburg family. It is located in the northern part of the Kopački rit Nature Park. It consists of a complex consisting of the Old Castle, the New Castle with an annex, a chapel, accompanying buildings, and a meadow and forest. The complex was a residential hunting center known on a European and international scale. After the Second World War, the castle was one of Josip Broz Tito's residences, where many world dignitaries stayed.

In May 2022, the Tikveš Presentation and Education Center was opened within the castle, allowing it to shine in its full glory. The project, which lasted four years, restored the castles and repurposed them into a modern exhibition, which interprets the natural and cultural-historical heritage of the complex and Kopački Rit in an educational and entertaining way.

Located in an old oak forest, this castle contains both interesting and educational contents that will certainly attract nature and history enthusiasts.
